There's a giant flying carpet in the atrium at Fairmont Dubai and it's all you have to see this month! Trust Dubai to come up with something unique and different that evokes a WTH reaction. This time, ahead of the Holy Month of Ramadan, it’s the turn of Fairmont Dubai to surprise us. The hotel has turned its lobby to a masterpiece right out of a Middle Eastern fairytale.
Featuring a gigantic flying carpet in the middle of the lobby, the centerpiece is also accompanied by an extravagant art exhibition, in collaboration with a contemporary crystal artist, Natalie Dagestani. The eye-catching five pieces of art are paying tribute to the late Sheikh Zayed and created using Swarovski crystals, pearls, glitter and various mixed media.
Sources say, it took the hotel's housekeeping and engineering teams two weeks to complete the installation of this 70 kg carpet that upholds as well a colourful selection of 150 Arabic lanterns. The carpet is 4 m long, 2 m wide and is flying at an altitude of 4.5 m under the hotel's soaring atrium. The impressive lobby centerpiece will be on display at Fairmont Dubai until 15 June. So don’t forget to check it out.
