Rajesh Khanna
Date of Birth: 29th December 1942
Superstar of the 1970s, Rajesh Khanna's real name is Jatin. He won an All India Talent Contest and entered Bollywood in 1966, but it was the film Aradhana opposite Sharmila Tagore that brought him stardom.
Between 1969 and 1974, he delivered 15 consecutive hits and became a rage. Young Indian women were besotted with him and his mannerisms, and the tales about his fan following are legendary.
In the mid-1970s as Bollywood moved away from romantic films to action, Rakesh Khanna's popularity began to decline. Subsequently he was seen in several family dramas.
In early 1990s he quit acting and entered politics.
Rajesh Khanna was said to be involved with Anju Mahendru, but married actress Dimple Kapadia when she was just 16. They have two daughters, Twinkle and Rinkie. Rajesh and Dimple separated in 1984, following which he dated actress Tina Munim.

Rajesh Khanna has always been my favourite actor of all time from the time I watch Haate Meri Saathi the first time. Through his films he has Inspired many a young couple. As a star he will always be followed and hounded by the press. The press will also highlight all aspects of his personal life and may sensationalise stories from time to time. As a Human being there is always the occasion to err and also the opportunity to redeem. Rajesh Khanna has gone down this road and has come out of it a stronger and better person. Its a pity that Romance in movies has been transformed from its pure state to a more physical state and actors sometimes have to comply in order for the film to be a hit. My wish is for Him to be cast in more affluent roles where he can be seen as a rolemodel for pure, honest and good romance.

If you see movies of Rajesh Khanna like Aradhana, Khomoshi, Kati Patang, Bowarchi and Anand. You will forget everything and would say what a peformance!In my opininon he has given very good movies to Indian Cinemas. He is not comparable to any of the Actor if you compare his performance, popoularity and box office performance having a long list of hits which itself says that he is a great actor.

He was only the actor who has given consecutive 15 hits in the Indian Film Indusry. He will be remembered always for good romantc films having very good musical composition. He was having very goods chemistry with Kisore Kumar and R D Burman. But in the later part of sevanties his regular appearence in the film without understanding the choice of the filmgoers make him rejected. But I still hope that he will give a mega hits in the near future which will establish him again.
