Date of Birth: 2nd November 1965

Known as King Khan, Shah Rukh Khan is not just the reigning superstar, but also a brand in Bollywood.

His career as an actor began in theatre in Delhi, and was followed by a few TV serials. Khan moved to Mumbai after the death of his parents and his foray into Bollywood was marked by a good start in Deewana in 1992.

Shah Rukh delivered a few duds in the initial years of his film career, and it was only after he experimented with negative roles in films such as Darr, Anjaam and Baazigar that his phenomenal rise to the top began.

Finally, it was the hugely popular Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge that established his star power. With successive hits in Karan Johar and Farah Khan's films, Shahrukh has become an important face of Indian cinema internationally. He is often criticised though for not acting in films other than those by made his own coterie.

Khan returned to TV as the host of the second season of Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2007 and is now hosting Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain?, the Indian version of Are you smarter than a fifth grader?.

Khan has also dabbled in special effects and stunt direction. He is probably the only actor to have appeared in item numbers. He turned producer in 1994 with Dreamz Unlimited; and set up The Red Chillies Entertainment in 2004.

Khan is one of the four Bollywood actors whose wax statue is housed in Madame Tussauds, London, and the only one to have found a place in Paris' Grevin Museum. He is also the owner of the Kolkata Knight Riders cricket team in the Indian Premier League.

Shah Rukh is married to Gauri Khan. He has one son, Aryan, and a daughter, Suhana.

Undoubtedly the "BEST" actor in Bollywood & that's he's called "KING KHAN'. Well for all you SRK Die Hard fans here's some facts and Trivia which I am DEAD sure most of you will not know. ((AHLAN Masala - I want my comments to be published for providing you & others with these details. hehe)) 1) Shahrukh still remembers his first fan who is a lady. She was his fan even before he became a film star or a famous televison star. She remembers him since his theater days. She shouted Shahrukh's name on the middle of the road when she spotted him. Shahrukh still cannot forget that moment. 2) One of the reasons why Shah Rukh bought Mannat, his palatial bungalow, was since he wanted to have an exclusive prayer room. Shah Rukh says that if he were broke, he will sell everything except Mannat 3) Shah Rukh was, in fact uncomfortably possessive about his lady love (Gauri), whom he lovingly calls Gaurima. So much so that he would pick up a quarrel with her even if she let her hair down literally. Finally, Gauri lost her cool and without informing Shah Rukh, came down to Bombay. Shah Rukh followed her to the huge city and kept looking for her around the beaches because of his awareness that she was attracted to them in a big way. Later, a cab guy advised him to go to Aksa Beach and Gorai Beach. After searching frantically, he managed to track her down when she was standing in the water! Wsn't that filmi? 4) Many do not know that SRK used to live in gautam nagar(south delhi).which he does'nt confess in his interviews. whenever any reporter takes his interview about his good old days ,he says that he resided in south Delhi, but he never talks about gautam nagar. 5) For Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, Shah Rukh had taken a signing amount of Rs 5,000 and did the entire film for Rs. 25,000. 6) Shah Rukh had signed a movie called Jadoo co-starring Raveena Tandon, Anupam Kher & Navneet Nishan to be directed by Pavan Kaul. But Shah Rukh refused to kiss Navneet who was playing a vampish role. Shah Rukh had promised himself that he would never kiss any actress on-screen. And, he has stuck to this till today. 7)Shahrukh requires a lot of his own space for himself and his near and dear ones understand that. Whenever Shahrukh is angry, he needs to be left alone or you will only make him angrier. 8)Shahrukh Khan can be managed best only by his wife as she understands him the most. She is the only person who can command Shahrukh to do things.
