Date of Birth: 16th April 1978

Lara won the Miss Universe pageant in 2000 and her first Bollywood film Andaz was a hit. She has steadily been climbing the ladder, but is yet to have a super hit as a leading actress to her credit.

Lara was dating Kelly Dorjee but the two separated after a long relationship. In 2011, she married tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi in a romantic ceremony in Goa. Mahesh was earlier married to model Shvetha Jaishankar.

The couple have also started their own production houses. Lara's first movie as a producer was 'Chalo Dilli' (2011) in which she also starred with Vinay Pathak.

Lara announced on August 1, 2011 that she and hubby Mahesh are expecting their first child together. The baby is due in January 2012.
