Hello All, I dont know whether this post of mine is read by Javed Sahab I am from his Alma Mater Aligarh Muslim University. I am writing a paper about the changes that have taken place in the lyrics of the films in the light of the cultural variations in the old times and new times. The younger generation is not any more able to enjoy and appreciate the emotions of old songs that had specific sentiments of childhood memories etc. For eg. songs like saat samundar paar se gudiyon ke bazaar se and qaaghaz ki kashti woh baarish ka paani. This is a loss for the audience as they cannot identify with sentiments of such songs but does it also mean that such songs have also lost their value? Please tell me about this. Vibha.
