Govind Nihalani
Date of Birth: 19th August 1940
One of India's finest and most acclaimed directors, Govind Nihalani is best known for making films with a socially relevant theme. He assisted Richard Attenborough in the cinematography of Gandhi.
Other than his films, Govind is the man behind the TV series Tamas and responsible for Jaya Bachchan's return to acting in the 1990s with Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa.
