Abhishek Bachchan

The only son of Bollywood heavyweight Amitabh Bachchan and actress-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek's ride in the industry has not been smooth.

He debuted in J.P. Dutta's Refugee, which showed him as an actor with potential, but it was only after more than 12 straight flops that he first tasted commercial success with Dhoom. Soon after, he received critical appreciation for his performance in Mani Ratnam's 'Yuva'.

Abhishek's career has been on the upswing ever since as he has delivered a number of box-office successes and proved to be an actor capable of handling a range of emotions.

Previously engaged to Karisma Kapoor, Abhishek was rumoured to be dating a number of women from model Dipannita Sharma to Rani Mukerji.

However, it was his off-screen romance with Aishwarya Rai that sent India into a tizzy as cameras monitored their every move until they finally wed in April 2007.

Since then, Abhishek and Ash have also worked together in Mani Ratnam's 'Raavan', which tanked at the box-office. The couple also made an appearance at the Oscars in 2011.

On June 21, 2011, Amitabh Bachchan announced that Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai are expecting their first baby.
