Ekta Kapoor

Ekta Kapoor has Bollywood in her blood – her dad is legendary actor Jeetendra. Ekta is a TV and film producer and the Creative and Managing Director of Balaji Telefilms. She has produced several very popular television serials under the Balaji banner and is known as the Queen of Television. At a very young age, she produced the much loved comedy show ‘Hum Paanch’. This was followed by pioneer shows including ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki’, ‘Kasauti Zindagi Ki’, ‘Kkusum’, ‘Kahin To Koga’ and several more, including ‘Pavitra Rishta’ which is on air now. Ekta then set her sight on film production and has since been enjoying success in B’wood as well. She has co-produced ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’, ‘Love Sex Aur Dhokha’, ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’, ‘Shor in the City’ and the recent ‘Ragini MMS’, all of which tackled unusual subjects and did well at the box office.
