Did you switch off your lights from 8:30pm to 9:30pm yesterday (March 27) to support Earth Hour? Bollywood certainly did. Abhishek Bachchan, the Indian brand ambassador for this year's Earth Hour campaign, had urged everyone, particularly his Bollywood colleagues to support the concept, which originated through WWF in Sydney in 2007. And they did just that.
Riteish Deshmukh wasn't the most comfortable in the darkness but he did manage through it. He tweeted, "The only light tht helps me is d Black berry screen. This earth hour definitely feels like the longest hour.EDISON tera lakh lakh shukr hai"
Vivek Oberoi, meanwhile, used the occasion for a candlelight dinner. No, it wasn't a romantic dinner. Just a nice home-cooked meal with girls from a charity he supports.
Karan Johar got philosophical as the lights went off. "The thoughts came on..silence made me think..so much to sink..an hour of no light gave me all the foresight..lights on!" he tweeted.
Dia Mirza was struck by the unfussiness of it all. "Beautiful candle light... A slight breeze and silence for company... So great are the joys of simplicity..."
