Speculation of a fallout between Padmaavat actors Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh have been rife ever since a certain comment made by Shahid at a press meet before the film. The actor stated that he felt like an ‘outsider’ on the sets of Padmaavat, indicating toward a rift between the stars. Adding fuel to fire, the actors never did a single promotional event together before the film’s release either.
Giving rise to rumours, an entertainment website recently posted an article of Shahid not wanting to attend the Padmaavat success bash, owing to his fall out with Ranveer. Coming forward to clear the air, Shobha Sant, CEO Bhansali Productions tweeted response which put the rumour to rest.
Speaking about Shahid’s ‘outsider’ comment, Ranveer said, “to be honest, I did my best to welcome him and did whatever I could do to be a supportive co-actor. But I think it’s got to do with the genre as well. I think Padmaavat is Shahid’s first costume drama and a costume drama has its own set of unique challenges which I had faced during Bajirao Mastani and it takes some time to get adapted to it. I think he’s reacting to that.”
