Life after Bigg Boss

Payal Rohatgi called fellow housemate Sambhavna Seth down market throughout her stay in the reality show “Bigg Boss 2”. But not many know that Payal herself has acted in many B grade movies such as “Tauba Tauba” and “Mazaa Mazaa” among others.

But all said and done, it does seem that the actress has indeed benefited by being in the Big Boss house. It has not only given her immense exposure, but her proximity to Rahul Mahajan on the show has also put her in good stead.

Payal spoke to masala.com after being evicted from the show on October 10. Excerpts from the interview:

How are you feeling after coming out of the Big Boss house?

I am feeling good. I have lost a lot of weight though I was having a lot of eat. Jam and stuff that I have never had before. I am full of emotions as you may have seen throughout the show. As an actor I knew that it was a show and we were all 'miked' up, and I was scared thinking that someone was watching. But then it wasn't just me. Everyone slowly opened up after a while. People were different when they started off and they ended up being someone else later.

You have had a lot of outbursts on the show.

I do have a lot of outbursts in real life too. In fact, when I came out of the show, the first thing I did was talk to my mother. I spoke to her and yapped and yapped my heart out and now I am feeling very good. She is the one person I tell everything and so I did.

How did you take up Bigg Boss 2?

It was a role and how can I be afraid of doing a role? I am a very quiet person and I stay by myself. It comes out only with my mom. I take a lot of time to open up.

You were a quiet person but you changed overnight.

I saw Ketakiji nominating Zulfi because he was not mixing and was the person who spoke the least. So I felt the need to open up.

From a sweet girl you became hot?

I realised that I wanted to be noticed and wanted to be someone like Mallika Sherawat.

How did people react when you did things like wearing hot pants and getting massages etc?

People felt that I was hot. After a point I went with the flow. Love me or hate me but this was me.

What's the relationship between you and Rahul?

I think it is a personal question. You have seen whatever you had to on the show. Let me tell you on record that Rahul is a very old family friend. He was my only friend in the Bigg Boss hosue. For me Bigg Boss was a career move and only time will tell whether it was good or bad for me. But then, Rahul will remain a friend all my life.

There was a new side to Rahul as well, the godfather.

That was the 'teeli' (matchstick). It was to create some kind of a reaction. Rahul my best friend was with me on the show and that's what mattered.

You backstabbed Monica Bedi.

I have done what I did there. It was a game and it is over for me now.

You were not close to the girls at all.

Maybe I did not find them interesting enough to be close to. I will not change myself for anyone. I am concerned about me, my family and my friends only.

Are you feeling bad that you have been eliminated?

My clothes were over. So it is fine. I want Rahul to win. He is a nice guy.

Do you regret saying anything against Sambhavna Seth?

No. I was on the show and I thought about only myself because I was thinking and I thought about myself and I don't think that anyone should have any objection to that.

You called her down market as well.

The game is over. We were in extreme conditions. We have different styles of reactions and doing things in a certain manner when exposed in a particular situation We react in a certain manner. I reacted in the way I did. The show is over for me now. Why should I attach any relationship now?
