Big B as Satyajit Ray?
Rituparno Ghosh wants to start his pet project
“The Last Lear” has failed to get a favourable response at the box office. We heard some 35 people turned up for the first show at Cinemax in Mumbai.
However, the film’s failure has not deterred director Rituparno Ghosh who has already chalked out the plan for his next film.
In fact, he actually wanted to make this movie before “The Last Lear”.
The movie is said to be based on the love affair between the late filmmaker Satyajit Ray and actress Madhabi Mukherjee, a relationship which was resented by Ray’s family, particularly his son.
Reportedly, Amitabh Bachchan has been approached to play the part of Satyajit Ray and Shabana Azmi to play Ray's wife. Farhan Akhtar is said to have been offered the role of the son.
Apparently, Ray’s son is not too happy with Ghosh’s plan to make this film so the director has to work his way around this before he can proceed with his pet project.
