Salman admits he had to put his foot down firmly with the makers
Over the years Salman Khan has transformed himself into a brand meant for the family audience and that’s why, the actor says, he has to be careful of whatever he does. In an interview to a tabloid the actor says he was hurt by the backlash the show received in the last season due to its vulgar content. "Last season, the show got reprimanded by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry for its explicit and at times vulgar content. The timing was pushed from 9 pm to 11 pm. I was hurt," Salman told a leading daily.
It made the actor do a re-think about the show and he did not want to endorse a television programme that didn't fit the mould. "My parents and friends couldn't watch the show because of the rampant fights and abusive language. And doing all this to gain popularity isn't right," he said.
In fact, the actor stated that there came a point, when he forgot that he was just the host of the show and ended up giving a piece of his mind to the trouble-making contestants. "This season there will be a lot more contestants including some common people apart from the celebrities. This I feel should be interesting and will make for a good family watch," Salman added.
Apparently, this season, will also feature a Macaw parrot inside the house, which incidentally is named after one of Salman's famous onscreen characters - Radhe.
