Anil Kapoor’s big plans for ‘24’
The 50-year-old is going all out for his show
Anil is doing all he can to make sure that the Indian ’24’ is as big as its American predecessor! He has brainstormed with writers of the show to come up with out of the box ideas for the episodes and now he has signed on some of the biggest names in Bollywood to guest direct his show as well! The directors in question are Rakeysh Mehra, Apoorva Lakhia and Priyadarshan, all of who have given hits at the box-office.
Even though Abhinay Deo is the official director of ‘24’, Anil has asked these three to guest direct three different episodes so that there is variety in the series. It is a fairly common tactic used by TV shows even today. Anil’s hoping that their expertise in filmmaking will make the show that much more interesting.
A source close to the actor says, “At 50, Anil is beefing up his body for ‘24’ but he isn’t ignoring his film commitments either. He recently shot for 20 straight hours for an action scene in ‘Shootout at Wadala’ in punishing heat because they couldn’t get an air conditioner to the location. But even while he gives his sweat and blood to his films, his heart belongs to ‘24!’”
