Why Turkey loves Salman Khan
The actor got a cafe renovated there
The people of Turkey are rather thrilled with Salman Khan! (Who isn’t?) While shooting in Mardin for Ek Tha Tiger, the cast and crew often frequented a quaint café called Café Del-Mar. And Salman, it appears got rather fond of the place. In fact, he liked it so much that he also suggested they get a face lift and offered to help!
His time between shooting schedules was then spent looking into every little detail from the décor and music to the food and beverage menu. The thrilled owners naturally welcomed and incorporated all his suggestions to make Café Del-Mar a better place! The entire gang of Ek Tha Tiger was so comfortable at the hotspot that Ashley Rebello, Salman’s stylist, would even be allowed into the kitchen to whip up dishes for the cast.
Director Kabir Khan says, “This café was our only hangout. The music system wasn’t very good, so Salman sent someone to get a better one. He installed it at the café, played new music and, after the shoot, left the sound system there.”
A YashRaj source confirms, “Café Del-Mar is now referred to as Salman Khan Café!”
So if you’re in Mardin, Turkey next head for this renewed little eatery courtesy Salman!
