Sonakshi on weight loss spree

Word has it that Sonakshi Sinha, who was so proud of her desi girl image, is now quite sick of it! She has shed the extra kilos to sport torn jeans and a choli in her first ever item number in Akshay Kumar’s upcoming film OMG. Sources say she got bored of her sari and lehenga look and wanted something trendy for this number.

“It’s not like this fell in her lap; she threw quite a fit for this item number which could have gone to another heroine. The item number in Joker, in which she is the female lead, has gone to Chitrangda Singh which she did not like one bit. She wanted this song to come to her, because she knows that one item number guarantees many more in future, along with stage shows and special events. She’s shed a lot of weight for this song in OMG. She needed to in order to fit into her urban wardrobe!” shares an insider.

Sonakshi was so gung-ho about her look that she did six photo-shoots in her costume after the shooting of the song. She has earlier confessed that she is fond of singing and dancing and enjoys every opportunity to perform. Whether her ‘urban-desi’ avatar would go well with the audience remains to be seen.
