Is Rani Mukherji officially a Chopra?

A few days ago it was reported that Rani Mukherji had been gifted a car by her alleged beau Aditya Chopra. Now another big secret is out - it is believed that the duo got married last Diwali! While YRF sources say that Rani has been addressed as ‘bhabhi’ (which means brother’s wife in Hindi) for months now, their marriage was kept under wraps. And the reason has nothing to do with the senior Chopras’ apparent disapproval of the actress.

Insiders say the wedding has been kept hush-hush primarily for Rani’s sake since she has two big films releasing this year: the Aamir Khan starrer Talaash and Aiyaa, an Anrurag Kashyap co-production. “She perhaps doesn’t want the hype that her secret marriage would create to override the promotions of her films. Aamir’s Talaash is certainly one of the most awaited films of the year and if her personal life eats into the hype of the movie, her relations with Aamir might sour. He is not the one to compromise when it comes to his films,” shares an industry source.

Rani celebrated her birthday this year in London with Aditya and the two allegedly had a small- cake cutting ceremony. The only two notable guests invited were Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif since they were shooting for the YRF film in London. In the wake of the news of their marriage, it makes sense that Aditya should buy Rani the afore-mentioned luxury car – after all, he wants his missus to travel in style!
