Definitive Moment: Aamir made a resounding impact with his second film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and won his first National Award (a Special Jury award) for it. He then went on to his second National Award for Raakh in 1989. However, it was first production, Lagaan (only the third Hindi movie to be nominated at the Oscars for best Foreign Language Film), that set the tone for the genius that his career was to become. Both Lagaan and Taare Zameen Par also won National Awards. Aamir has also been twice honoured by the Indian Government with a Padma Shri in 2003 and a Padmabhushan in 2010, for his contribution to Indian cinema.
Body of Work: No other career in Bollywood is peppered with as much originality, creativity and sheer genius, than that of Aamir Khan’s. Every movie of his has set some sort of a record or another. He is truly the definitive all-rounder.
