'Satyamev Jayate' inspires UK talk show
'Hard Talk' host Tim Sebastian to start an issue-based programme
After winning accolades for his ‘Satyamev Jayate’ with viewers all over the country, Aamir Khan’s much-talked about show has inspired people from abroad as well. Reports say Tim Sebastian, the man behind BBC's famous show ‘Hard Talk’, has moved to India to start an issue-based television programme, focusing on socio-political problems in the country.
The 13-episode show titled ‘The Outsider’ will go on air this October. Presently, it’s being said, that he is conducting research for his show. Sebastian feels India is the right choice as it’s among the youngest countries in the world with an “amazing amount of demographic figures and many languages, cultures and people."
Interestingly Sebastian admits that he has never seen ‘Satyamev Jayate’. “I have gone through a few similar shows in India but not Aamir's. I have been told that our shows are very different. His is a chat show, while mine involves a debate that I will be moderating."
But well, imitation is also a form of flattery, right Aamir?
