The definitive awards for cinema in the South was star studded with Bollywood as well

There is a problem when just one song catapults you to global stardom - not only does the number become part of your identity forever, you are expected to croon it each time you are in a public forum. Ask Danush who has probably sung Kolaveri Di a million times now in TV studios, at interviews, events and award functions! He performed the song once again at the biggest and most glamorous south Indian awards night held in Chennai. The Kolaveri man didn't seem to mind it at all - he was a hit on stage and was quite happy when picking up his trophy!

The ceremony saw the best of south cinema and a sprinkling of Bollywood in attendence. It was a treat to watch hotties like Shruti Hassan, Richa Gangopadhyay, Priyamani, Sanjana and Tamannah dance to super hit item songs. But the most special moment came when Shruti was called on stage to receive her Best Debut award in Tamil and Telugu from her dad Kamal. One has seen Kamal receive countless national and international awards but the pride in his eyes was unmistakable as he handed the trophy to his lovely daughter, Shruti. Daddy's girl has truly grown up!
