King Khan convinced Yash Chopra to have a change of locale
Shah Rukh Khan
Now that Kashmir is back on the list of filmmakers’ dream destinations, can Yash Raj films be left behind? Yash Chopra was apparently toying with the idea of revisiting one of his favourite destinations, the Kashmir valley, as a backdrop for his directorial next starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
The last time the valley featured in Chopra's films was in the 1976 blockbuster ‘Kabhie Kabhie’, after which the filmmaker shifted his attention to the Swiss Alps for a long time. But now reports say that the film will be shot in Ladakh and not Kashmir and the person behind the change is none other than Shah Rukh himself.
A source says that Yash Chopra wanted a snow-capped landscape for the climax hence he initially thought of shooing in Kashmir. However, Shah Rukh came up with the idea of Ladakh, where he had shot for Mani Rathnam's ‘Dil Se’, and still holds fond memories of.
And when the King says, who can disagree? So now, the entire plan has been changed and the unit will head to Ladakh instead of Kashmir.
