The board had given an A-certificate to song promotion
Director Pooja Bhatt, who is directing ‘Jism 2’ with adult film actress Sunny Leone, is pretty miffed with the Censor Board. The reason being the board has given an A-certificate to the song promo of ‘Jism 2’ which has infuriated her to no end.
But the actress-turned-filmmmaker isn’t taking things lying down and has decided to hit back – through the internet. She will be going ahead and releasing the uncensored song on the internet. Pooja says that the promo of the film's theme song that was due to go on air on June 29th will now be released on the internet simultaneously in its uncensored form.
She vented out her anger on the Censor Board by tweeting "First music promo for ‘Jism2’ has been given an 'A' certificate. And this was what one could call a truly watered down version. So the deal is this - You can't buy spots on TV for a promo with an 'A' certificate. Which basically means you can't publicise your music!" She also protested, "Absolutely REFUSE to pare my scheduled trailer down to pander to an over cautious Censor board. Will release promo on the internet instead."
Pooja quoted the example of ‘Delhi Belly’ which was cleared by the censors, "’DK Bose’ faced no censor problem because they didn’t understand lyrics! Are they claiming to understand ‘J2’ visuals more than they did ‘Delhi Belly’ lyrics?"
Pooja, who is understandably very upset with the Censors' take on TV promos, said that the censors need to give clear directives about the same. We wonder what the authorities will say to that!
