Prateik is a lot like his mum!

While controversy brewed among stars at IIFA Rocks in Singapore recently, Prateik decided to stick to safer pastimes… or so he thought. While a beach park he was busy stand-up paddle surfing when he toppled over and got slashed above the eye by the paddle. “Luckily it missed my eye,” he says, while sporting a deep gash on his forehead. But since he was in Singapore for IIFA, he braved the pain and it was work as usual.

Back home in Mumbai, he’s showing that he is indeed Smita Patil’s son and is following in his mum’s footsteps by recently joining an NGO to promote awareness of abuse to senior citizens. He recently attended a function organised by the NGO to interact with senior citizens and they simply loved him! He helped them on and off stage, hugged them, listened to their problems and posed for pictures.

Prateik has been brought up by Smita Patil’s parents and is extremely close to them. A friend tells us, “He’s so attached to them that this is his way of showing his appreciation to other senior citizens. He dislikes any kind of abuse, be it verbal or physical, that senior citizens are sometimes subjected to.” This boy is all heart and not brat at all!
