Organisers and filmmakers are willing to pay any price to woo him
Riding high on the super success of 'Wanted,' 'Dabangg' and 'Bodyguard,' Salman Khan has raised his price to a HUGE Rs 50crore! Incidentally, this includes profit sharing of his new films as well – like a supposed 30 per cent of the takings for Yash Raj Films’ 'Ek Tha Tiger.' His TV remuneration for ‘Bigg Boss’ has also reportedly increased. Incidentally, nobody seems to be having a problem with these figures – they’re only clamouring for more of Sallu!
Besides films, there are events to be attended for which he apparently charges Dhs 1.15 million plus a chartered flight. Recently, the organizers of an event found out the hard way that they just couldn’t cut back on his price. They offered him Rs 1crore plus a chartered flight but he turned them down! Sources say he’s also selective about business launches, birthdays and weddings and attends them only if he gets his due. A Khan camper says, “You don’t know the kind of offers that keep coming in – everyone wants bhai to perform at their events.”
The going is so good right now that some producers even offer him a choice of director before he signs up with them. Or if they’ve already signed on a director, they’re willing to change at Salman’s behest. Salman fortunately doesn’t overdo it but he does provide them with a list of his favourite directors and asks them to choose.
His price hike is apparently the brainchild of his trusted manager Reshma Shetty. No wonder Salman recommended her to his friend Sanjay Dutt when he recently threw out his manager and friend of many years Dharam Oberoi!
