It seems that B’wood actor Akshay Kumar is over the moon!
His latest film ‘Rowdy Rathore’ has been declared a commercial success after it earned nearly Dhs 19.5 million at the BO in its opening weekend. The 44-year-old actor took to Twitter and expressed his delight. He wrote, “I owe a HUGE thank you to my audience! You are the only reason behind the biggest opening weekend of my career! Love Rowdy."
The film directed by famed south Indian choreographer cum actor cum filmmaker Prabhu Deva was made on a budget of Dhs 29.5 million and made a record of sorts by being the only movie to be screened across 2,800 theatres in the country. Co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala, ‘Rowdy Rathore,’ co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, marked Akshay's return to a full-fledged action role after a gap of seven years.
Well the roaring success of ‘Rowdy Rathore’ proves that Akshay can hold his own even with the Khans dominating the industry.
