The actress is taking complete control of her character’s final look for ‘Aiyaa’
It looks like Rani Mukherji is ensuring that no stone remains unturned for her latest movie ‘Aiyaa’ which is being directed by Sachin Kundalkar.
According to a source involved in the project Rani is in complete control of every aspect responsible for how her character shapes up in the movie and is thus very fastidious with her demands on the sets.
The source revealed to a tabloid that right from the time Rani signed the film she made it clear that her character, that of a Maharashtrian girl, needed to be authentic as possible. Therefore, she took the initiative of discussing every aspect of her character, from her outfits and accessories to even her body language. The 34-year-old apparently held several meetings with designers Neeta and Nishka Lulla to finalise on the right material to be used for her outfits.
Apparently, scenes that failed to impress Rani were apparently redone later to suit her tastes!
Overall, it is believed that Rani was most finicky about how two dance tracks from the movie shaped up. The first one being a naughty number with a dream sequence and the second one an ode to Sridevi, Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla for their iconic songs such as ‘ Na jaane kahaan se aayi hai’ from ‘Chaalbaaz,’ ‘Ek do teen’ from ‘Tezaab’ and ‘Tu tu tu tu tu tara’ from ‘Bol Radha Bol.’
‘Aiyaa’ which will hit theatres in September is the story of a middleclass girl who tries to win a stranger’s heart only because he smells good.
