Salman refuses to promote Arjun Kapoor
His stance shocked Arjun’s dad Boney Kapoor
Salman is known as the good Samaritan of Bollywood who has helped promote many newbies in the industry. He has even gone on to launch many careers – Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Himesh Reshammiya and music composers Sajid-Wajid being some of the best examples. So it was perhaps natural for producer Boney Kapoor to expect Salman to do the same for his son Arjun Kapoor who is making his debut in Yash Raj Films’ Ishaqzaade.
Salman has worked in Boney’s films such as ‘Wanted’ and ‘No Entry’ and has been a close family friend for many years. Apparently, even Arjun shares good equation with the star and reportedly it was Salman who had encouraged him to join films and sort out his weight issues. At the time Arjun was dating Salman’s sister Arpita Khan though the affair didn’t last long.
Aware of Salman’s tweet power, sources say, Boney asked the superstar to tweet about Arjun’s film. But the producer was shocked when Salman refused to do so. While it is not known what exactly transpired, Boney didn’t expect that his favourite actor would refuse his request. Whispers suggest that Salman’s refusal could have something to do with Arjun’s alleged association with his sister-in-law Malaika Arora Khan some time back.
Whatever be the reason, Arjun might have to look at other friends for support as the release date of his debut film nears!
