Producers Nariman and Nadir Irani are very angry with actors Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat. The reason: the stars are refusing to part with the money they have no right to hold on to! The story goes that Vivek and Mallika had been signed on for a project a few months ago. Unfortunately, due to certain reasons, the film has been shelved but the duo is refusing to return the signing amount!
Apparently, the director of the movie Sagar Bellary, had asked Vivek to commit to another film of his, 'Hum Tum Shabana' while he was being considered for the Iranis' project. The actor agreed to do work with the Iranis if he was paid a fee of Rs 50 lakh as signing amount.
However, Vivek wasn't happy with the script and asked for several changes. The script was being reworked constantly to meet his expectation until it was finally decided to shelve the project. Apparently, when Vivek and Mallika were informed that the project wouldn't materialise, they kept a safe distance from the production team and kept mum about returning the signing amount.
Mallika's spokesperson denied the claims while Vivek was unavailable for comment. The producers meanwhile are wondering what they should do to get their money back!
