'Blood Money' explores the dark side of making quick money by youngsters seeking jobs away from their country. Bollywood’s childhood sweetheart from ‘Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke’ Kunal Khemu and ‘Aisha’s’ quirky beauty Amrita Puri tells us about their latest movie and their experience in the industry.

What makes 'Blood Money' unique? Tell us more about your role.
Kunal:'Blood Money' is a script that a common middle-class man can relate to. It shows how an MBA graduate wants to make it big in the corporate world and earn big money overnight. Just like the people here in Dubai who are expatriates and have come for work to make a good living. Still, what happens in the movie is an ugly picture when anyone gullible can get on the wrong side of law easily. I had to get into the skin of the character and understand the various tragic circumstances he is thrown into.

Why did you have a gap in your career after  ‘Golmaal 3’?

Kunal: It was a conscious decision as I wanted to focus on doing quality work versus quantity. I am not at the level of a Salman Khan and can't experiment, make mistakes and then be forgiven for a couple of bad performances. I am very cautious.

Since this is your first film as a female lead how did you prepare for the role?
Amrita: Not many may know this but my role has been inspired by Emraan Hashmi’s wife, Parveen.  When I met her I realised what they were looking for in my character. Parveen is very humble yet the backbone of the relationship. This is exactly how my relationship with Kunal’s character has been portrayed in the film. Also, she was a nursery teacher before marriage and so is my character.

Two actresses being friends in the film industry is uncommon. How was your rapport with Mia Uyeda?
Amrita: I’m only two films old so I can’t talk about much about how actresses interact with each other or if they make good friends. Mia, however, is very sweet and hardworking. We didn’t have many scenes together but the little time we had we really hit it off.
