Agent Vinod to have a sequel?
Director Sriram Raghavan thinks there is potential for a franchise
‘Agent Vinod’ was expected to top the BO charts, but unfortunately, the film got bad reviews and trade experts say it might not recover its cost. However, that hasn’t deterred Saif Ali Khan and director Sriram Raghavan who have already decided to continue the franchise with a sequel. A tabloid reports that Sriram has zeroed in on a couple of ideas and will start working on one in the coming month.
The director says that the idea was always to see Vinod in the midst of different adventures in different countries. He takes heart from the fact that he film had an encouraging opening. “Maybe in a month, I will start working on another film for the franchise. However, it's too early to say anything," he said in an interview.
Sriram has also learnt a few things from his recent release. "I have to take care of a couple of things in the future. For example, I have to make sure that the length of the film is two hours," he said. The director also feels that people expected a ‘Johnny Gaddar’ kind of film from him when it was completely the opposite. “It is a Bond kind of a movie with repeat value. It grows on you and the idea is to make different films and treat ‘Agent Vinod’ as a franchise."
