The two bonded over team India’s recent win against Pakistan
Indian fans were ecstatic over their team's stunning victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup in Bangladesh but one person who ensured that his admiration and words of appreciation reached the right ears is none other B’wood’s ‘Khiladi’, Akshay Kumar.
Akshay was in Bangladesh recently to promote his forthcoming movie 'Housefull 2' but when he was asked to be part of the presentation ceremony, he was thrilled at the opportunity. Sure enough, after India’s victory, Akki went up to skipper M S Dhoni and told him how much he idolised him.
Later that night, as the actor got back to his hotel room, he was stunned to receive a special return gift from Dhoni - a pair of gloves that had been worn by the captain during the match. Akshay was naturally excited and he immediately called up Dhoni to express his gratitude.
Apparently, Akshay intends to pass on the gloves to his son Aarav, who is a huge fan of cricket but couldn’t watch the match live.
Akshay's friends say that this was the first time that he had met Dhoni, a cricketer whom he always admired and supported despite the flak the former received over India’s abysmal performance in the Australia series.
Well you can take Akki out of the ‘Khiladi’ movies, but you can’t take out the ‘Khiladi’ out of him!
