Vidya Balan’s ‘Kahaani’ is a hit
The movie has collected Rs 13.5 crore in just four days
Vidya Balan has done it again. She has given yet another hit solely on the merit of her fabulous acting skills. After winning over critics and fans alike with meaty performances in films like ‘Ishqiya’ ‘No One Killed Jessica’ and ‘The Dirty Picture’, she has scored once again with the woman-centric film ‘Kahaani’ that released last week.
Interestingly, the thriller started slow on Friday making only Rs 2.95 crore on its opening day but from Friday evening onwards, the collections showed a sharp escalation after excellent word-of-mouth publicity. The four day collection stands at nearly Rs 15 crore and it's rising by the day, say trade experts. News of its sensational mark in the BO would surely delight the entire cast and crew of the movie since it was made on a very low budget of Rs 8 crore.
Film distributers point out that the movie is doing very well with over 80 percent occupancy in the halls despite having a serious script. Some believe the good publicity (with Vidya making an appearance everywhere in her 'pregnant' avatar) has also worked wonders for the film. Moreover, with no serious competition until 'Agent Vinod' releases, 'Kahaani' is scheduled to have a good run at the box office.
All we can say with Vidya's hit streak anything she touches is turning to gold! Great going Vidya!
