Special Moments at the Masala! Awards 2011

Packed as it was with A-listers from T'town, the UAE and beyond, the Masala! Awards 2011 had all the ingredients needed to make for a very special night. As guests began arriving at the Madinat Jumeirah for the hottest party of the year, it was a glam gathering of beautiful faces, with lots of interesting conversation and moments to add to the mix.  

When host Mandira Bedi first stepped on stage, MC Nitin Mirani complimented the actress on her svelte figure. Mandira gave birth birth to her baby boy Vir in June 2011, and it took her just six months to lose the 20 kgs  she had gained. "Mandira is a role model, an inspiration to men even...to lose their paunch," Nitin said with a smile. 

Earlier, it was a stylish inspirational moment as Masala! Awards judge Sarah Belhasa and Bollywood's most gorgeous item girl Malaika Arora Khan caught up. Sarah owns the fab Studio 8, and Malaika's known for her super chic choices - and it was great to see the fashionistas together.

It was also amazing to see the excitement among all the winners. In particular, we've got to mention Salina Handa, who won the Entrepreneur of the Year (Female) Award. On stage, Salina said that the moment felt surreal "I'm having palpitations and I need my husband, who's a cardiologist, to take care of me now!"

It wasn't just the winners who were excited - the Masala! Awards judges were thrilled about finally meeting all the achievers who made the cut this year. Falguni Mehta, who looked elegant in a Manish Malhotra creation, said that she was thrilled to see all the accomplished individuals who made up the winners in both the Judges Choice and Popular Choice categories. 

And then, of course, there was Masala! Awards 2011 Entertainer of the Year winner Arjun Rampal who got heartbeats racing a lot faster. Arjun, who seemed constantly on the move, was as simply stylish as he always is - and even in the face of screaming fans, he maintained that cool calm that we love!
