'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' to open DIFF

Get ready for amazing action and top-notch star power - it's just been confirmed that 'Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol' will debut to the world as the opening film of the 8th Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) on December 7, 2011.
Starring Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway and Bollywood's very own Anil Kapoor, the fourth installment in the 'Mission: Impossible' series has already been generating a buzz for its adrenaline-pumping action sequences.
And all that buzz is headed straight for Dubai, as are the movie's stars! Cruise and the film's cast and crew will be on the DIFF red carpet for the opening night at the Madinat Jumeirah.
The team will be returning to Dubai after extensive filming in the city, including shoots spanning its old town, downtown financial hub and offshore Palm island development. One of the movie's most recognisable scenes has Cruise scaling the world’s tallest tower, Dubai’s Burj Khalifa.
So what's the movie all about? Framed for a terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, Impossible Missions Force operative Ethan Hunt (Cruise) and his entire remaining team (Renner, Patton, Pegg) are disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the president initiates 'Ghost Protocol', essentially erasing the agency from existence. Left with no resources or backup, the team must find a way on their own to clear their names and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know or trust.
The movie will hit theatres across the world in December 2011.
