Sonam Kapoor's Glittering Date With Dubai

We've said it before, and we'll say it again - there's nobody in Bollywood quite as classically stylish as Sonam Kapoor. Sonam was in Dubai last night for Nirav Modi's haute jewellery collection preview at One& Only The Palm, and, no surprises, she had the city's most fashionable people quite floored.

Dressed in a figure-hugging, shimmering black dress, and wearing a stunning Nirav Modi statement necklace, Sonam mingled with Dubai's A-listers, chatting, sharing couture choices and posing for pictures. 

Masala.com caught up with the stunning, and very witty, actress for a quick chat about all things jewellery related, and then some! Here's what she shared with us!

What sets Nirav Modi's jewellery apart from others for you?
Nirav's jewellery is very clean and beautiful. It is like wearing a piece of art. I really like his jewellery - if I didn’t, I wouldn’t be able to sell it to you. I may be really good on screen but I’m a terrible liar in person.

What’s the one piece of jewellery you just can’t do without?
My Bvlgari Serpent watch. I wanted it for my 25th birthday, have been looking for it since my 21st birthday, found it in the Caribbean (a relative who works in the watch industry found it for me). I'd moved heaven and earth looking for it – I wanted a new one with a guarantee, with an old-style dial because they started making a new version with a different dial.

What are the top five pieces of jewellery that should be a part of every woman’s collection?
1. String of South Sea pearls
2. Diamond solitaire studs
3. Tennis bracelet
4. If you are married, then an engagement ring (and hopefully a man to go with it!)
5. Statement necklace
