A mere four films old, he is already the next big thing – a ready-made superstar whose hits or flops won’t matter for he has already made it, just by being himself. Reticent in nature but surprisingly candid and forthright in his responses, Prateik is on a mission –making a name for himself sans the Babbar suffix. We chat with the unstoppable actor par excellence, who was recently awarded ‘Breakthrough Talent’ at the GQ awards, about his upcoming release My Friend Pinto and the gorgeous lady on his arm, Amy Jackson…

What would you say is the highlight of your film, My Friend Pinto?
My Friend Pinto is film about the journey of Michael Pinto. Michael is a goofy and hilarious guy but most importantly he is the catalyst in the film. So according to me, Michael Pinto is the highlight of the film

Not many actors get the opportunity to work under Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s banner. Are you excited?
I am glad that I received the opportunity to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. My Friend Pinto is an excellent platform for me to showcase my skills as I will be attempting a comic role for the first time. I am extremely excited about the film and the character that I play.

SLB also has a reputation of being a taskmaster. Did you ever face his wrath?
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been my mentor and I have learnt a lot from him. It feels great being associated with him. Moreover My Friend Pinto is directed by Raaghav Dhar and being guided by him was a whole new experience.
