Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor @ India Bridal Week

The colours were royal as was the theme at Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor's India Bridal Week show - jewel tones of ruby, sapphire, emerald and topaz appeared on blouses and voluminous skirts. Delicate lace trimmings added a pretty edge to the the creations.

The designers brought a hint of 17th century Venice to the Victorian/ Mughal mélange, opening their show with a layered white gown with shimmering net and chiffon. There were one shoulder gowns with gleaming crystals, pre-stitched saris with crystal borders and giant paisleys on the skirts.

The anarkalis were colourfull all the way - red, pista green, royal blue and yellow with velvet striped hemlines.

We loved the white voluminous kurta, with a dazzling velvet border, as well as the peacock motif. The menswear was in black and white predominantly with churidars, sherwanis and Jodhpuri jackets embellished with detailing on the silk and brocade with tonal crystals on cuffs and shoulders.
