With 'Hero' Arjun Rampal as his showstopper, it was yet another triumph for the designer

Rohit Bal opened the Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2011 season with his Shaanti collection and it was a feeling of déjà vu as Arjun Rampal was the star showstopper yet again, like he had been for the designer's show at Delhi COuture Week. This time Arjun strutted down the catwalk in ivory pants, a zippered biker jacket worn over a long sleeved tee with the word HERO glittering on the front.
Rohit began with a tasseled yoke ivory multi appliquéd border floor length ensemble, followed by an alternating net and cutwork diaphanous lehenga and voluminous skirts.
Swirling paneled floor length coats, glittering floor skimming gowns, intricately crafted antique gold corsets, heavily textured halter gowns with wine and black embroidery, kurta jackets, lush flared horizontal ribbed sheer skirts - all these made an appearance. Adding a touch of nostalgia, the designer had his famous multi-tiered floor length kurtas in shades of wblack and beige with heavily embroidered long coats.
Menswear had black and burgundy floral embroidered sherwanis and Jodhpuri jackets in ivory, and royal blue and black velvet jackets with floral embellishments.
It was a typical Rohit Bal collection, appreciated by the stylish audience for its individual touch!
