Manish Malhotra @Delhi Couture Week 2011
The opulence of royalty inspired this very stylised and diverse set of designs
Manish Malhotra showcased 25 diverse stylized looks for women and five looks for men, all inspired by the old world charm and majestic opulence of royalty that prevailed in India from 1920 to 1940 at the ongoing Delhi Couture Week.
The pre partition era saw a distinct British influence and Manish's collection was a combination of the tradition and contemporary.
In womenswear, the rich colours used were combinations of cherry reds and burgundys with tones of mint green, aqua, and off whites. All supported by the swirling silhouettes that Manish is known for, best shown off in showstopper Sonam Kapoor's look in the show.
The menswear saw combinations of blacks, burgundys, royal blue, beiges and gold - all adding up to one regal collection!
