Gauri & Nainika's grand finale @LFW

Combining drama, flair and, of course, superb style, Gauri and Nainika Karan's Fantasy collection for the finale of Lakme Fashion Week was wow material all the way. And the runway being transformed into the setting of a fairytale, complete with props and lights, added beautifully to the effect.

"We are very excited to have collaborated with Lakme for this. Doing a grand finale is a designer's dream. The whole theme of fantasy was very exciting for Gauri and me to create because we have always dreamt of wearing gowns like these. There were no boundaries to our creativity in this and so it was absolutely wonderful," Nainika said.

With angelic gowns and dresses, and two stilt dancers who thoroughly enthralled the audiences with their mind blowing performance, the Delhi-based designers created a whimsical world all their own.

The colour palette for the collection had soft pastel shades with feminine tones - a mix of greens, blues, pinks, yellows and whites, bringing alive the dreamy theme of the garments. Tulle was used prominently to create dresses with cascading hemlines, making them look fragile yet sculpted.

The silhouettes that were showcased in the show ranged from sharp cocktail dresses with spiralling drapes and textures to dramatic red carpet styles, which is Gauri and Nainika's signature style.

And at the show to appreciate it all were celebs including Bipasha Basu, Zayed Khan, Sussanne Roshan and Sanjay Khan, among many others.
