Should Aamir be given awards?
He ignores all ceremonies, so should Aamir be handed the trophy? Masala! wonders...

True Aamir Khan skips award ceremonies, but he DOES do excellent cinema. An actor of his calibre (just think of Bhuvan) does deserve an award, whether or not he massages the egos of jury committees and award sponsors. And now, Aamir has proved himself spectacularly as a director. Taare Zameen Par is one of the most sensitive films to have come out of Indian cinema. If you don't honour the man who directs it, who DO you honour?

Aamir Khan does not even give juries clippings of his films, let alone attending an award ceremony. Why should the jury reward such arrogance with an award? Yes, Aamir is an excellent actor and director. Let his films top box offices and garner critics' praise, but let him not get an award at the same ceremony he boycotts. Anyway, he is not India's only talented actor or director - just look at the films up for awards this year!

He is no one to decide which awards recognise real talent and which doesn't. Infact its time he should not be nominated for any awards. Time & again he is nominated for awards & he continuously keeps saying he doesn't recognise these awards. Aren't these awards like filmfare humiliating themselves by recognising his performance.
