His fans are still talking about his last concert in Dubai five years ago. And now A.R. Rahman is coming back to the UAE with an even bigger show. You can look forward to a new repertoire of hit numbers from Rang De Basanti, Guru, Jodhaa Akbar, Sivaji: The Boss and many more. And don't forget, he has also recently composed the soundtrack for Shekhar Kapur's Elizabeth - The Golden Age and the stage adaptation of The Lord of the Rings and released his first English single, Pray For Me Brother, with BlaaZe.

A.R. Rahman - Live in Concert takes place on April 18 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, from 7pm onwards. A huge 80 by 50 feet, three-tiered stage is being built for the show that is expected to run for four hours. A line-up of star performers as well as several of Rahman's new finds will join him for the show. These include Hariharan, Chitra, Sadhana Sargam, Karthik, BlaaZe, Madhushree, Mohammad Aslam, percussionist Sivamani, Neeti Mohan, Naresh Iyer (Patshala and Rubaroo), Javed Ali (Jashn-E-Bahara) and Benny Dayal (Balleilakka from Sivaji).

"The play-list will be based on the response from the audience but we will try to satisfy fans of both Hindi and South Indian music," said Rahman at a press conference held last week to announce details of the show.

Tickets priced at Dhs 125, 175, 500 and 1000 are available at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium box office, Virgin Megastores, Lulu Hypermarkets and supermarkets, Al Mansoor Video, Spinneys, Choithram, Sindh Punjab and Chappan Bhog outlets around the UAE. The event has been organised by Oasis Productions.
