Baisakhi Nites
Punjab da puttar Mika Singh to headline two high-energy events
Mika Singh has emerged from the shadow of big brother Daler Mahendi with his own unique bhangra-meets-disco style. Last year was a good one for him with hits such as Dil Main Baji Guitar and Ae Ganpat, and a short but typically dramatic appearance on the TV dance show Jhalak Dikhla Ja. So who could be better than this rustic Punjab da puttar to celebrate Baisakhi with this year?
The singer will perform at the Baisakhi Nite to be held at the Dubai Tennis Stadium on April 18 along with Bombay Rockers and UK singer Mona Singh. Tickets are priced at AED 65, 100 and 125. They are available at Choithram, Al Mansoor Video, Sindh Punjab, Gazebo and Kamat outlets in Dubai and Sharjah. Online bookings can be done on Timeout Tickets. "We have kept the ticket prices low because we want all Punjabis and music lovers in the UAE to enjoy this festive event," said Chris Thomas from CAC Events.
A similar celebration will take place in Abu Dhabi on April 17 at the World Punjabi Baisakhi Nite to be held at Hiltonia Beach Garden. The performers include Mika Singh, Pakistani singer Sahira Naseem, actress Sheeba Bhakri, Mona Singh and stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma. Tickets priced at AED 500, 300 and 200 are available at National Future Video, Chappan Bhog and Kwality Restaurant, Abu Dhabi.
