Michael Jackson’s Death!
The most shocking celeb moment of 2009 was undoubtedly the sudden death of Michael Jackson in June at the age of 50. As the world went into mourning for the King of Pop, and tributes poured in from the world of showbiz, mystery continued to surround his final hours and the circumstances leading up to his death.
An inquest later ruled the death a homicide, with the Los Angeles County Coroner sensationally revealing in August that MJ was killed by a cocktail of strong prescription drugs, including the anaesthetic Propofol and the anti-anxiety drug Lorazepamin.
The ruling kickstarted a manslaughter investigation, centred around Michael’s personal physician Dr Conrad Murray – who is accused of administering Propofol to the pop singer before his death.
After months of speculation and enquiries, MJ was finally laid to rest in August, while the investigation into Dr Conrad Murray’s involvement in his death continues.
