Raveena’s Diary

Masala! spoke to Raveena in Singapore, as she visited family after attending the IIFA awards in Macau. Here’s what she shared with us:

June 11

We arrived in Macau late in the afternoon. We checked into this beautiful hotel. Much as I would have liked to put on my sneakers and explore around, I couldn’t. Rasha and Ranbir (her children) were very tired and hungry. So I had to make sure they were fed and rested. So, much of the day I stayed in the room. In the evening we went to watch Cirque Du Soleil. It was the most beautiful thing I have seen recently. Then the acrobats posed for pictures with the Bollywood actors.

Later on, the men went out to the casino but most of the women stayed in their rooms.

June 12

I had to divide my time between the children and the fashion show. So I couldn’t catch many of the fabulous designers who showed from Macau, but I was glad I could be in time for Manav Gangwani’s show. I loved Farah Khan’s show too. Hrithik and Suzanne looked awesome together on the ramp.

At night, we all gathered in Amitji’s suite to watch the T20 World Cup. Only for occasions like this can we get together so informally. And it was fun to watch all the men, who had lost heavily in the casinos the night before [laughs], preferring to hang out in Amitji’s suite and watch cricket.

June 13

Anil and I took Rasha and Ranbir for a gondola ride in the morning. They enjoyed it thoroughly. Then I had some interviews scheduled. Soon it was time for me to
get ready for the red carpet, because the event was scheduled pretty early.

I am in love with the Manav Gangwani dresses I wore at IIFA. I felt very comfortable yet elegant.

The performances on the award evening were amazing. The ceremony got over pretty late. We all came together for the after party. None of us danced much, but we were chatting and catching up. The party went on till the wee hours. It was a blast!
